Coffee History
Commercial Arabica cultivation developed on the slopes of Kilimanjaro around 1900. Production later expanded to other highland areas.
Arabica and Robusta Regions
Arabica grows around Kilimanjaro and Meru in the north and in southern highland areas such as Songwe, Mbeya and Ruvuma. Kagera near Lake Victoria is one of the main Robusta-growing areas.
Kilimanjaro AA and Tanzania Robusta 18 represent different species and classifications. Sharing a country of origin does not make them the same coffee profile.
