Coffee History
Coffee reached Brazil in 1727 through Belém in Pará. Production later spread southeast; cultivation, exports and research became important parts of the country's agricultural development.
Region and Cup Character
Minas Gerais is neither a single farm nor a single microclimate. It includes different growing areas and cup classifications. The distinctive character of Rio Minas is assessed separately from a Fine Cup profile focused on chocolate and sweetness.
Rio character has a distinct place in traditional Turkish coffee production in Turkey. When selecting a Brazilian coffee for a blend, consider the cup classification and intended beverage alongside the origin.
