Origin, Bags and Documents
Read origin information by matching bag markings, the commercial batch and accompanying documents.
Origin and Delivery Location Differ
Origin identifies the country and region where coffee was grown. The importer's address, loading port or warehouse in Turkey cannot replace it. Warehouse pickup in Istanbul does not make Istanbul the origin of a Brazilian coffee.
Matching a Bag to a Lot
Read the product name, origin statement, batch marks and weight on the bag alongside the commercial lot record. A bag brand alone cannot replace all these fields.
Original bags preserve visible traceability marks. Product and lot identities, photographs, batch markings and accompanying documents must refer to the same coffee.
Documents and Certificates Differ
Origin documents, shipping records and certification documents serve different purposes. Organic or other certification claims must be assessed against the relevant document and scope.
A coffee name on a document is not enough for matching. Check the document number, producer or exporter identity, batch or shipment reference and product details together.
When Information Does Not Match
If product names, bag marks or documents conflict, identify the inconsistent field. Do not record a different origin, variety or certification as established fact without explanation and evidence.
