Clear Information and Trust in Green Coffee Trade
Trust in green coffee trade depends on clearly defined product identity, quality information and commercial terms. Gerarco brings these details together in a common structure.

A coffee name alone does not explain what is being purchased. Lots sold under the same name can differ in harvest, grade, screen size, processing, packaging and delivery terms. Buyers need to see these differences, while suppliers need to communicate the value of what they offer.
Clearer product identity
Gerarco separates a coffee’s general identity from the characteristics of an individual lot. Origin, region and processing define the product; harvest, measurements, quantity and commercial terms belong to the lot. Decisions can then be based on comparable information rather than names or incomplete descriptions.
What does Gerarco Approved mean?
Gerarco Approved identifies lots physically examined by Gerarco through the product itself or a sample. Checks cover screen size, moisture, water activity, grade, defects and density, with photographs of the coffee and its packaging. The mark is used only for lots that have undergone this process.
Commercial terms in context
Price per kg, minimum order and delivery terms need to be considered together. Gerarco presents them in the same lot record, giving buyers a clearer basis for comparison and suppliers a defined framework for their offer.
A shared information framework
Clear information does more than simplify a single purchase. It supports accurate product identification, a better understanding of quality differences and more consistent trading relationships. Starting in Türkiye, Gerarco is developing this approach for use across international green coffee trade.
